NEWSLETTER - SEPTEMBER 2014

Dear Parents

We have been back for 3 weeks now and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all new children and their families to our Pre-school. We are sure you will all enjoy your time with us.

We would also like to welcome a new member of staff who is working permanently full time and started with us this term. She is Di Nash who has a level 3 Early Years qualification and has experience of working in a nursery previously.

This half term our theme is "Ourselves". There is an information sheet about this theme in the lobby, please take a copy if you haven't already done so.

Lending Library

On the inside door to the hall, there is a list of which day your child can choose a book to take home. Please remember to bring the children's Book Bags every day, so that any "work" they do and any Newsletters, etc can be put into their bag daily. Book Bags with our Pre-school logo are available for £3.50 if you haven't already bought one.

Snack time

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the donations of fruit and other snack items. At snack time there is a choice of 3 snack items daily. We offer fruit (oranges, melon, apples, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, satsumas, grapes, raisins, pears, etc) plus crackers, cheese, cereals, vegetables, breadsticks and sandwiches (the children make these themselves). If you donate items once or twice every half term, the children are able to have a healthy snack - thank you again.

Fundraising

A big thank you to all who helped make our Fun Morning at the end of the summer term a special occasion. I think you will all agree it was a successful morning. We raised £368.80 - some went towards the cost of the coach to Fishers Farm in July and some will go toward replacing equipment for the children.

We have an informal Parent Fund Raising Committee who volunteer to help with ideas to raise funds for the Pre-school. We meet for approximately 30-45 minutes in the hall at 9.15am once a term. If you are able to help, please let me know and I can arrange a suitable date for you all during the next month.

The visit in July from Cuddle-me-do was really enjoyed by all of us! There were chickens, gerbils, rabbits, ducklings, chicks, lambs, goats and even a little pony. We had a lovely time!!!

Homeless Project

We will be collecting items for Worthing Churches Homeless Project to take over to the church on Friday 10 October. There is a list of items that the Homeless Project have specifically asked for - tea, coffee, sugar, pasta, and tinned products. Please start to bring in items as soon as you can - ALL ITEMS WILL BE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED.

Lunch Club

We will be restarting Lunch Club in January 2015. Lunch Club can be included in the 15 hours Free Entitlement if your child is eligible. If you would like more information please ask.
